Domaine Sébastien Dampt Chablis 2023

Chablis, as Chablis should be, from one of the rising stars in Chablis.
The grapes for this wine come almost entirely from 45-year-old vines. The winemaking is minimalist: after pressing the grapes, the wine ferments and ages in stainless steel tanks. This not only preserves the refined, dry Chablis character but also imparts a slight flinty aroma, showcasing the expression of terroir in the wine.

Sébastien Dampt began his own estate, Domaine Sébastien Dampt, in 2007, with seven hectares of family vineyards. When it comes to winemaking, Sébastien keeps things simple, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Apart from the grand cru wines, all his wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks.

This method results in the classic, crisp, mineral style that makes Chablis so attractive. Additionally, it allows for the fullest expression of the terroir, as the only difference between the wines is the vineyard from which they come.

Sébastien is considered one of the rising stars of Chablis, and his wines have received excellent scores from internationally renowned wine critics such as Jancis Robinson and Robert Parker. It’s clear to us: this young winemaker is one to watch.

The grapes for his Chablis Villages come from various plots, the largest of which has vines that are 45 years old. The winemaking process is minimalist: after pressing the grapes, the wine ferments and ages in stainless steel tanks. This preserves the refined, dry Chablis character and imparts a subtle flinty aroma, showcasing the terroir expression in the wine.

This is Chablis as it is meant to be: bone-dry, chalky, with notes of Granny Smith apple and citrus fruit. It’s perfect as an aperitif or paired with oysters and light fish dishes. A true, superior expression of Chablis!

Tasting Notes

A refined dry white wine with an aroma of flowers and ripe yellow fruit. The taste is fresh, full, and juicy, ending with a beautiful and persistent finish.

Food Pairing

An excellent companion for many fish dishes, both cold and baked; a classic match with oysters.

Shelf Life

Best enjoyed from one year after the harvest and easily cellarable for four to five years.
