Tenuta de Angelis Wine Pairing – Red and White

These wines from the beautiful Marche region in Italy are an authentic reflection of the unique terroir and winemaking traditions of the area. The Offida Pecorino 2024 is a modern, aromatic white wine made from the indigenous Pecorino grape, while the Rosso Piceno Superiore 2022 is a smooth, oak-aged blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano. Together, these wines represent the passion and craftsmanship of the Fausti family, blending local traditions with contemporary winemaking techniques.

Tenuta De Angelis Offida Pecorino 2024

Made from the indigenous Pecorino grape, this wine is soft with a fruity aroma, making it a perfect match for seafood dishes or a cheese platter.

The high-altitude, organically farmed vineyards of Tenuta De Angelis surround the towns of Castel di Lama and Offida in Italy’s Marche region. Here, Alighiero and Quinto Fausti cultivate the Pecorino grape, a native variety to the area.

The grapes are harvested early in the morning to keep them as cool as possible, followed by rapid pressing and fermentation. This is crucial for preserving the fresh fruit aromas.

The result is a modern, pure, and boldly flavorful wine with great originality. The nose is full and fruity, while the taste is delightfully fresh. This Offida Pecorino exceeds many other wines in this price range and is an excellent companion for dishes like vitello tonnato or flavorful seafood. A wine not to be missed!

Tasting Notes
A full-bodied, complex dry white wine with aromas of ripe yellow fruits and subtle toasty nuances. The taste is rich, creamy, and persistent, finishing with a long, aromatic aftertaste.

Food Pairing
An excellent match for flavorful seafood dishes, but also great with young cheeses.

Aging Potential
Will keep for at least three to four years after the harvest.

Tenuta De Angelis Rosso Piceno Superiore 2022

This smooth, oak-aged blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano is perfect as an aperitif and pairs wonderfully with pasta, pizza, or grilled meats.

Alighiero Fausti, working alongside his father in Italy’s Marche region, creates modern red wines from perfectly ripe Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes. While he respects the traditions of the family business, he also adds his own signature. For example, Alighiero has not altered the grape composition of this long-standing bestseller, but he has changed the timing of the harvest.

As a contemporary winemaker, he focuses on optimizing the ripeness of the grape and pays close attention to the softness of the tannins. Traditionally, grapes were considered ripe when they contained enough sugar. Alighiero, however, believes that the ripeness of the tannins in the skins is the key to determining the ideal harvest time.

This oak-aged Rosso Piceno Superiore is a full-bodied, smooth red wine with a perfect balance of juiciness and structure. It is rightfully one of our most beloved red wines from Italy, appreciated by both our customers and the press.

Tasting Notes

An accessible red wine with a spicy, peppery aroma and nuances of candied fruit. The flavor is full and powerful, with a juicy, long finish.

Food Pairing

Perfect for pairing with pasta in spicy sauces or grilled meats.

Aging Potential

Ready to drink now, or can be aged for five to six years after the harvest.
