VoorUit is committed to strengthening self-reliance and social engagement in seven vulnerable neighbourhoods in Amsterdam. The project builds bridges between different groups in society and promotes a sense of connection.

 

The strength of VoorUit lies in the dedication of the ‘VoorUiters’: motivated students who use their talents to support local residents. These students live in the neighbourhoods where they are active, building a strong bond with the local community. This helps them better understand the challenges residents face and offer targeted support.

 

Through projects such as digital and language cafés, community gardens, cooking clubs for children, and physical activities for seniors, VoorUit directly contributes to positive change in the neighbourhood. At the same time, the students gain valuable lessons in collaboration, responsibility, and community engagement.
